Albert M. "Big Boy" Bender passed away at his home on July 14, 2017. He was born February 26 1947 in Strong, Arkansas to E.M. (Mike) Bender and Avelene Vestal Bender. Big Boy was a United States Army veteran in Vietnam. He served in the Communications Division and had high security clearance. He attended Strong Schools where he graduated and was a resident of Strong for 70yrs. He worked in the oil business as a roughneck for many years and also worked for the City of Strong as the water Superintendent for 27yrs. He retired in 2003 due to surgery on his legs

He was preceded In death by his parents, a brother Mike Bender, a sister Sandra Bender Beauchamp.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years; Jeanne Duke Bender of Strong, a brother; Alfred "little Boy" Bender of the Woodlands, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held from 1-3pm Monday 7-17-17 at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Strong with services starting at 3pm with Rev. Danny Malone officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Floyd, Karl Brummett, and Ed Langston. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sawyer, Robert Farris, Jimmy Farris, Ted Gathright, Jimmy Crawford, and Steve Black. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery under the direction of Perrys Funeral Chapels.
