Obituary

Ann Phillips was born July 25, 1920 in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the daughter of James B. and Evie Davison Graves. She graduated from Union High School where she played basketball for the Lady Cyclones. Ann married Lt. Lee R. Woodall, Jr. in October 1943. He was a navigator on a Flying Fortress 395th B. G. He was killed in November 1943 while serving his country during World War II. She married Sgt. George N. Phillips in February1946. He served in World War II with the179th Field Artillery in Germany and was awarded a Bronze Star medallion in Germany for heroic actions. They had two children and were married until he died in December 1974. She was a long time member and past president of the Pilot Club of El Dorado. Ann retired from Great Lakes Chemical Corporation after 26 years of service. After retirement, she served as a Pink Lady at both hospitals for nine years. She was a 50-year member of Second Baptist Church. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son George N. Phillips, Jr., sister Dorlene Graves Latham, brother-in-law D. R. (Rusty) Latham, and niece Pamela Ann (Pam) Latham Morgan-Kidd. She is survived by her daughter Judy Ann Phillips Crittenden and husband Jack of Stilwell, OK, grandson George R. Cobb (Rick) and wife Sondra of Bossier City, LA, granddaughter Kristi Killam and husband Brian of Victorville, CA, grandson Michael Lacewell of Dallas, TX, grandson Rory Crittenden and wife Christy of Westville, OK, step-granddaughter Nicole Crittenden of Dallas, TX. Also three great granddaughters, four great grandsons, one step-grandson, one nephew Rocky Latham and wife Carol of Mountain Home, Arkansas and one great nephew Troy Morgan and wife Linda of Bay City, Texas. Viewing will be held at Perry's Funeral Chapels Friday, July 16, 2010, from 7:00 p. m. to 9:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, East Main Road., with Rev. Phil Pinckard officiating.
