Bennie Donald "Don" Smith, 84, of Strong, Arkansas went to meet his Lord and Savior on August 10, 2021. He was born on August 20, 1936 in New London, Arkansas to the late Larkin Ellis and Ada Vallie Black Smith. Don was a member of the Church of Christ and member of Knowles Baptist Church for over 50 years.

After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force serving 2 years in Japan and 2 years based in Little Rock, Arkansas as an Air Traffic Control and GCA Operator. Following his service, Don returned to Strong where he married the love of his life, Sharon Pratt and worked as an Operator at Lion Oil for 44 years. Don and Sharon spent their retirement years traveling to nearly every state, often accompanied by children and grandchildren. Don was a true cowboy and gentleman who had a love for all things western and of years past. Don, fondly known as "Papa" to his grandchildren was a great storyteller and usually started another story in the midst of a story, which resulted in the original story never being complete. He was known by everyone as the man who could fix the things nobody else could. Don's word was his bond, his friendly, warm smile and extra firm handshake will be remembered by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Donna McCoy.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sharon Pratt Smith; their children, Tony Smith (Tami) and Jennifer McGehee (Tim); grandchildren, Ryan Webb, Laura Little, Brooke McCoy, Will Smith, Samantha Medlin, Christopher Smith, Christian White, Caleb White, Austin McGehee, Lauren Dugal, Jimmy Jackson, Adrianne Jackson; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Perry's Funeral Chapels. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Center Point Cemetery officiated by Bro. Tommy Nash under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.

Serving as Pallbearers are Justin Pratt, Benjamin Pratt, Jody Cook, Carter French, Little Barry Pratt, Allan Saunders, and Nathan Pratt.
