Betty Jean McKinnis 87, passed away Wednesday, January 14. 2026. Born December 9, 1938 in Waterloo, Arkansas to Warren and Margarete Lowery Almond.

Betty attended Willisville High School and after graduation she became a licensed Cosmetologist and worked at a salon in Magnolia, Arkansas.  She was a loving and devoted Stay at home housewife and mom. After her children began school, she went to work as a Teacher's Aide at Norphlet Elementary where her children attended.  She was of the Missionary Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church and loved reading her Bible and singing with Aunt Patsy at local churches. She loved watching her grandchildren and never missed a sporting event or dance recital.

Preceding her in death are her parents and brother Clifton Almond.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Jerry McKinnis (Denise), daughter Kelly Parker, Sister Jewell Hinshaw (Don), brother Lynn Almond (Charlotte), and her sister-in -law Sherry Almond. Also, her grandchildren Ashley Green (Logan), Christian McKinnis, Nikolas McKinnis, Gage Parker (Karley), Gabrien Parker (Taylor), and her great-grandchildren Ashton Griffin and Carson Stark and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry and Kelley will receive friends and family Saturday January 17,2026 from 10:00 am until noon at Bible Baptist Church fellowship hall, El Dorado Arkansas, a visitation will follow from 12:30pm until 2:30pm at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, Arkansas. A private burial will be held at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapel.
