Obituary

Betty Sue Ponder Stinson, 63, of El Dorado went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday, January 30, 2015 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was a devoted, loving wife and an amazing mother. She was selfless, uplifting, joyful, and never ever met a stranger. She walked by her unfailing faith everyday and let her love shine through her beautiful smile. She was adored by many, many friends.

Betty Sue was born April 9, 1951 in El Dorado to Tyrol and Marine Hanry Ponder. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1969 where she then attended Draughn School of Business in Shreveport. She worked an array of jobs including Tosco for 13 years and South Arkansas Community College for 12 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church, and Breast Friends support group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bob Ponder and Bill Ponder, a loving niece Kathy Szumachowski, and her mother-in-law Mable Guinn Stinson.
Survivors include her . husband of 40 years Gary Stinson, four daughters, Christy Kersh (Jason), Melissa Lowery (Wesley), Brittney Goodwin (Jay), & Taylor Stinson. She had one grandson, Jase Kersh and one granddaughter, Brinley Goodwin, all of whom she lived for everyday. She is also survived by her sister Sara Raines (Doug), her brother Jim Ponder (Kathy Normand), and a niece, Jenny Raines, that was like her own daughter, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, February 2, 2015 at Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 2 pm, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Hudson and Bro. Bob Inman officiating with burial to follow at Jolley Cemetery under the directions of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
