Bonita J. “Bonnie” Hayes, 70, of Strong, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 27, 1955, to George Harvey Jr. and Marilyn Holcomb Harvey.
Bonnie, affectionately known as “Gammaw” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a devoted wife and loving mother. She worked for many years at Strong Supermarket. In her free time, she could often be found fishing or visiting a favorite swimming hole with her grandbabies. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was happiest when spending time with them every weekend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Mike, Bill, and Ed; and her sisters, Linda and Kelly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roger Hayes; her children, Matt, Tasha (Scotty), and Jeremiah; her grandchildren, Marissa (Cameron), River (Elizabeth), Kirsten (Cody), Ethan, Kenadee, Jacee (Ty), Cade, Chloe, McKenzie, Natalie, Hope, and Hollie; her great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Madelyn, Mila, Gemma, Klaira, Banks, River, and Haisley; her sisters, Sue, Kim, and Donna; and her brothers, Dennis and Jon.
The family would like to extend special thanks to ACMC, Dr. Michael Fakouri, and Hospice Home Care of Monticello for their amazing care and support.
Honoring her memory as pallbearers are Scotty Johnson, River Johnson, Ty Dugal, Jeremiah Hayes, Cody Martin, and John Paul Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers are David Mitcham, Wayne Mitcham, Ethan Harvey and Cameron Cox.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Perry’s Funeral Chapel, with graveside services to follow at Poole Cemetery in Strong, under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapel.
