Carmen E. Bates Jeffress, passed away Octobert 14, 2012. She was born February 16, 1923 to John M. And Alma Bates.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Edwin Jeffress, daughter Elaine Summerville, two sisters, Ethel Sims and Lessie Phillips, four brothers, John Milton Bates, Carl Bates, O.D. Bates, and Jesse Bates.
She is survived by a daughter Edwina Guinn, a son, William E Jeffress Jr.(Brenda), a brother Paul David Bates (Owahla), grandchildren, Debra G. Reid, Tammy G. Anderson, Leticia G Hooper (Robert), Natalie G Foster (Tim), Jeff Jeffress, Mike Jeffress, Marie Jones, Eadie Aldridge, Terry Summerville, David Summerville, Angie Summerville, 33 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm Tuesday October 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday October 17, 2012 at Perry's Funeral Chapels with Donny Cutchall, and Keith Averitt officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
