Obituary

Carole Joyce Richards passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Carole was born on June 28, 1931 in Tacoma, WA, the only child of Roy and Elizabeth Carson.

She spent most of her life in Tacoma, WA, but move to El Dorado, AR late in life to be with family. She attended Lincoln Sr High School and Knapp College of Business. Upon graduation, she went to work for the federal government at McChord AFB and later at Ft Lewis, where she retired after thirty-six years as a budget analyst. She loved to play bingo, crossword puzzles, zigsaw puzzles, cribbage, and a variety of card games.  She was a skilled seamstress, and loved to knit and crochet.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Richards: her parents Roy & Elizabeth Carson; stepson Edward Richards; step-daughter Cathy Wilson; granddaughter Jane Frassrand; great-grandson Ryan Parker; and grandson William Richards.

Those left to cherish her memory include: three daughters Sharon Richards, Shirley Parker (Jim), and Susan Nixon (Brian); seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial service in her honor will be held at 11:00 AM March 1, 2025 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in El Dorado, AR.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in her honor to Arkansas Hospice Foundation
