Chris
Cherry
Jan 18, 1953 — Oct 29, 2026
Dale Christopher Cherry, 73, a lifelong resident of El Dorado, Arkansas entered Heaven on Thursday, October 29,2026.
Chris was born January 18, 1953 to H. C. and Helen Cherry. He lived a life filled with family, faith and a love for the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Rebecca Davis, his parents H. C. and Helen Cherry, his sister Joy Walthall and her husband Ronie; his nephew Todd Cherry and his sister-in-law Annette Booth.
Left to carry on Chris’s legacy of love and faith is wife of 53 years, Gina, also left to cherish his memory is his loving daughter Ashlee Cherry of El Dorado, who shared a lifelong, unbreakable bond with her Daddy.
Chris was immensely proud of his one and only grandson Drayton Davis who introduced his Paw Paw to fun times with his Virtual Reality goggles. Drayton lives in Conway with our forever family, his dad, Drew Davis and his wife Molly.
His three granddaughters, who always told everyone that he was so much more than just their Paw Paw, will forever treasure his love are Breanna O’shea, Baileigh Cherry and her fiancé Vonta Farris; and Brintlee Cherry and her fiancé Trey Thornton, all of EL Dorado.
Chris’s seven great-grandchildren brought daily joy to his life. Laila, Emma, Raiden, Olivia, Eden, Kalani and Kylen will forever have their memories of coloring reading and getting in his bed while he shared all his snacks with them.
Chris also leaves behind his brothers who shared a lifetime of stories together; Jeff Cherry and his wife Laura of El Dorado, Mack Cherry and his wife Jennifer of Little Rock; and Jay Cherry and his wife Suzy of Searcy. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart.
Chris was proud of his many years selling cars while making new friends. He was more than an avid sports fan. Our family knew him as an intense and educated Razorback fa. Chris’s happy place was sitting in a homemade deer stand or catching a bas big or small.
Above all, Chris was a faithful believer, a quiet prayer warrior, and a man of great strength. He loved us all in his own way. His memories, lessons, laughter and the love he leaves behind will continue through the generations.
Services held in his honor will be held Sunday November 1, 2026 with visitation at 1:00 pm and service beginning at 2:00pm at Perry’s Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
