Colon Thomas Watson, 92, of Mt. Holly, AR. departed this life for his heavenly home on February 11, 2013. He grew up in a large loving family and devoted his life to his family, church and friends.
He was a veteran of World War II where he served with the 25th Medical Battalion of the 25th Infantry "Tropic Lightning" Division where he was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
He owned and operated Watson Grocery Store for sixty-four years.
He was a member of Silver Hill United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer and trustee. He also served on the Mt. Holly School Board, Union County School Board, Board of Directors of Stephens Security Bank, Share Foundation Board, and Commander of the American Legion of Mt. Holly.
Colon was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Joannah Watson, brothers Harper, Monroe, Jimmie, J.P., Dee, Dan Watson and sister Helen Payne.
Colon is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Gloria Jean, one son, Tom of Mt. Holly, three daughters, Jo Anne Zachary and husband John of Benton, Janet
Phillips and husband David of Mt. Holly, Jenene Warren and husband Richard of El Dorado, nine grandchildren Kim Smith and husband Michael, Julie Parsons and husband Mike, Jena Matyja, Dwayne Warren and wife Jana, Christy Cranford and husband Cody, Jill Austin and husband Joseph, Russell Warren, Michael Phillips and Dana Phillips.
He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Perry's Funeral Chapels in El Dorado.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 14 at Silver Hill United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Leon Dixon officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Dillon Smith, Mike Parsons, Cody Cranford, Michael Phillips, Dwayne Warren, Russell Warren, Joseph Austin, Donald Dews and Danny Dews with burial to follow in Silver Hill Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
