IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel
Lum
September 8, 1940 – June 20, 2025
Daniel Elmer Lum, age 84, passed from this life June 20, 2025. Daniel was born September 8, 1940 in Urbana, AR to the late Elmer Lum and Gladys Elmore.
Daniel Lum, a man of strong faith, quiet wisdom, and many talents, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.
A devoted member of Green Grove Assembly, Daniel's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He loved to sing and worship, and his deep belief in God carried him through every season with strength and grace.
In his younger years, Daniel enjoyed the thrill of duck and quail hunting. But as the years went by, he was content to sit down, reflect, and enjoy the peace that comes with a life well-lived. He was a true outdoorsman at heart—spending countless hours doing yard work and taking pride in keeping his place looking just right.
Daniel worked in the oil field, and it was there that one of his favorite companions, a dog named Max, went with him every day. They were a team, side by side through long days and hard work. Daniel could fix just about anything and seemed to know something about everything. He was so self-reliant that he even pulled his own teeth—just one of many examples of his grit and determination.
With a humble spirit and a sharp mind, Daniel was the one people turned to when something needed fixing or when a word of encouragement was needed. His favorite trip was a drive through Ridge Parkway in Virginia—a memory filled with beauty and peace that he cherished dearly.
Daniel Lum will be remembered for his faith, his steady hands, and the love he gave freely to those around him. He was a man who didn't need to say much to leave a lasting impression. He simply lived well—and that was more than enough.
He was preceded in death by parents; one brother Laverne Lum; three sisters Darlene Ederington, Mary Rudder, Glenda Mosley; one son Stevie Lum; and one grandson Marcus Lum.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his loving wife of sixty-seven years Claudia Lum; two sons Danny Lum (Debbie), and John Lum (Kandra), two daughters Lisha Elliott (Euclid), and Tammy Ashworth (Roy); one brother Robert Lum; one sister Bobbie Littlefield; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services in his honor will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Perry's Funeral Chapel, Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating, internment following at Green Grove Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the funeral home. Serving as Pallbears will be Brandon Butler, Joe Dopson, Brandon Elliott, Hunter Mathis, Michael Taylor, Zach Westbrook, Neal Redmond and Steven Adair; Jamie Caldwell Honorary.
