Obituary

Dean Marine 74, of El Dorado died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at his home. Dean was a member
of Marysville United Methodist Church. He was born to Earl and Zelma Marine May 20, 1934
in Pigeon Forge, Tennesse. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was awarded a gold medal
and plaque by the American Legion in Richmond Virginia in 1956 for outstanding heroism for
saving the lives of three children in an apartment fire. Dean loved to ride motorcycles until he
was unable to because of his health. He met his wife on a motorcycle in 1952 and they rode
together for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Kenneth Marine.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty Jo Marine of El Dorado, Son; Dean Marine Jr. and
friend Lisa of Batesville, Arkansas, daughters; Kay Metzer and husband Al of El Dorado and
Sharon Benson and friend Billy of El Dorado, brother; Gene Marine of Gatlinburg, Tennesse,
sister; Dorthy Nell Adkins of Pigeon Forge, Tennesse, four grandchildren; Will Hogg, Brandy
Primm, Ashley Morgan and Kenneth Dean Marine and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday January 21, 2009 at Marysville United Methodist
Church with Rev. Robert Thorton officiating. Burial will be at Marysville Cemetery. The family
will receive friends from 6:00pm til 8:00pm on Tuesday January 20, 2009 at Perry's Funeral
Chapels.
