IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debbie
Lum
May 18, 1961 – July 14, 2025
Deborah "Debbie" Sue Lum, age 64, passed from this life Monday, July 14, 2025 surrounded by family. Debbie was born May 18, 1961 in El Dorado, AR to the late James and Margaret Ham.
Debbie Lum was a woman whose life revolved around family, laughter, and living every moment to the fullest. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she poured her love and energy into them every day of her life.
Debbie found joy in the simple pleasures—whether tending to the fifteen hummingbird feeders outside her home, watching the tiny birds swarm like bees, or spending time at the river camp fishing. If she caught a big fish, everyone knew it—she'd break into a little dance, celebrating the catch with the kind of spirited joy that made her so beloved.
She was never one to shy away from speaking her mind. Debbie kept her kids in line with love and honesty, and she was the kind of person who told you exactly what she thought—but always from the heart. Her quick wit and warm personality drew people to her, whether she was gathering with co-workers at Hollis for dinner, laughing until the tears rolled, or off on girls' trips with her daughters, making memories that will last a lifetime.
Debbie faced a lengthy illness with incredible strength and determination. Even on the hardest days, she fought valiantly, never losing her sense of humor or her spirit. She loved keeping her husband, Danny, on his toes, and together they built a life full of love, teasing, partnership, and devotion.
Debbie Lum's legacy is one of love, resilience, and joyful living. She leaves behind family and friends who will miss her fiercely but will carry her memory forward—telling stories, watching hummingbirds, dancing by the riverbank, and laughing loud, just like she would have wanted.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one nephew Michael "Mike" Dickey; and father-in-law Daniel Lum, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her loving husband of forty years Danny Lum; two daughters Tanya Butler (Brandon), and Sarah Adair (Steven); two bonus children Amanda Lum and Joe Dopson (Kerrie); eleven grandchildren Jolie Westbrook (Zach), Wesley Selmon, Madelyn Adair, Colton Adair, Kaiden Adair, Analayah Strong, Summer Burrell (Riley), Wynter Mathis, Hunter Mathis, Korbin Dopson, Jasper Dopson; three great-grandchildren Sawyer Westbrooks, Briar Burrell, Jarrett Lovett; two sisters; one brother; special friend Jackie Jones; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held in her honor at 10:00 AM Friday, July 18, 2025, at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, AR. A time of visitation will be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the funeral home.
