Delia Reed Crain Lewis, 84, died Friday, November 21 at Medical Center of South Arkansas after a lengthy illness.
She was born November 10, 1924 in Standard, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Henry Allen and Serenia Adelia Reed. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a member of Wyatt Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, HJ (Short) Crain; second husband JC Lewis; granddaughter Rhonda Lynn Franklin and grandson Patrick Crain; 4 sisters, Juanita Miller, Jacquelyn Bares, Tommie Gearheard, and Jean Bradford; daughter-in-law Sue Bearden Crain and son-in-law Rusty Jones.
Survivors include three sons, Jack (Lea) Crain of Sikes, LA, Jerry (Janet) Crain of Katy, TX and Steve (Mickey) Crain of Hot Springs, AR and one daughter Rita Jones of El Dorado. Grandchildren Jason Crain of Sikes, LA; Kelly Crain of Katy, TX; Michelle Black, Chad Jones, Brooke Jones, all of El Dorado; Rob Crain of Austin, TX; Justin Crain of Las Vegas, NV and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dee was devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She loved to quilt and her creations will be enjoyed for generations. She was an avid fisherwoman and thought there was nothing better than "dropping a line" and catching a crappie. Her family will miss her quiet strength, gentle demeanor and loving nature.
Funeral will be 10:00 am Monday November 24, 2008 at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado with the Revs. Adam Thomas and Donny Hymer officiating. Burial will be in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery in Sikes, LA at 3:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday,November 23, 2008 from 6-8 p.m.
