Donald Ray (Poppy) Wilson, 81, of El Dorado passed away at his home on December 31, 2020. He was born on November 5, 1939 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to the late D. C. Wilson and Alma Self. Don enjoyed watching Razorback sports, working as a deacon at Marrable Hill Chapel, as well as fishing and hunting. Don served in the United State Navy from 1959 to 1964, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, on the USS Philip as a machinist mate E6. He was retired from the El Dorado water department. Don was a family man, whose greatest joy was spending time with his wife Sue of 32 years and their family and friends.
Proceeding him in death were his parents and his sisters, Joyce Heckerd and Patsy Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Wilson; brother, Charles Wilson; sister, Susan K Sears and husband, Ronnie; son, Al Wilson and his wife, Leah Jo; daughter, Terri Kay Dunn and her husband, James; daughter, Kristen Kyle and her husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Austin, Christopher, Cody, Holly, Tiffany, Lorrin, and Madison, and his six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on January 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., led by Senior Pastor Blake Daily at Marrable Hill Chapel in El Dorado, AR. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Victory Bible Camp.
