Donna Cheryl Webb McCoy, resident of Strong, passed away on Friday, December 4 th , 2020, at the age of 59 years. Donna was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ellis and Ada Valley Smith, and maternal grandparents, Max and Delma Pratt. She is survived by her parents, Bennie " Don " and Sharon Smith of Strong ; three children, Ryan Webb (Tara), Laura Little (Brent), and Brooke McCoy , all of El Dorado ; nine grandchildren, Brody, Beckett, Levi, Lennox, and Kate Little, Eden and Harrison Webb, and Skyler and Dess McCoy; one brother, Tony Smith (Tami) of Strong , one sister, Jennifer McGehee (Tim) of El Dordao ; a special cousin, Karen Pratt Frisby of Strong; as well as numerous nieces, nephews , cousins and friends who loved and respected her .
Donna was born on August 21 st , 1961. She attended Strong Public Schools and graduated in 19 79. In 1989, Donna received her undergraduate degree from Southern Arkansas University in Education, and she received her Master's Degree from Louisiana Tech University in Curriculum and Instruction in 2001.
Donna began her career as a teacher at Union High School, and she continued her work in education at Strong Elementary and the El Dorado School District. She loved her children in the classroom, but she is most well remembered as a compassionate, fun-loving, nurturing librarian. Her work with students was her calling and her joy. She retired in 2019 after 29 years of service.
Donna was a life-long member of Knowles Baptist Church in Strong. There, she taught Sunday School , sang in the choir, and assisted in the church library.
Donna loved to travel and was always up for any adventure her family suggested. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and cultivating her green thumb. She's most remembered by her contagious laughter, ever-present smile, and uplifting attitude.
The family will receive friends at Knowles Baptist Church at 9:00 am on Tuesday, December 8 th , 2020 with s ervices beginning at 10:00 am . Bro . Tommy Nash will officiate . Interment will follow at Centerpoint Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapel . Pallbearers will be Caleb White, Christian White, Christopher Smith, Cole McCoy, Justin Pratt, and Will Smith.
