Donnie Wade Hicks, 61, of Lillie, La passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Reeves Memorial Medical Center, ending his valiant struggle with cancer.

Born July 27, 1955 in Shreveport, LA to Bertha Lee and Wade Dwight Hicks. Donnie was a kind person with a great love for children, animals and was a strong believer in Jesus Christ. There was nothing he liked better than being outdoors, fishing, camping, enjoying having a cup of coffee with friends, riding his horses or "Fiddle Farting" in the barn. He went from sun up to sun down to take care of everyone. He will be greatly missed.

Preceding in death by his mother, Bertha Lee Yates, his father, Dwight Hicks and step father, Clois Yates; one son, Calvin Wade Hicks; brothers, Dennis Hicks and Daniel Yates

Donnie leaves behind his loving wife. Dolly Hicks; his children, Nikita Culpepper of Smackover, Brandon Wisinger of El Dorado, Donny Hicks of Lillie, LA, Kayla Hicks of El Dorado; four step-children, Madison Thigpen, Sydney Thigpen, Annabelle Porter and Mallory Porter; Grandchildren, Addison Hicks, Chloe Stafford, Evan Riddell, Zayden Hicks, Skyler Riddell and borrowed grandchild, Susan Burch; two brothers, Chris Hicks and Jason Yates; two sisters, Lisa Maroney (Henry) and Tammy Dunham (Charles); and his cousin and partner in crime, PeeWee Hicks.

Visitation will be held at 1pm Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Perry's Funeral Chapels with a memorial service immediately following.

Cremation services were entrusted to Perry's Funeral Chapels.
