Obituary
Dorothy Maxine Barksdale, 94, of Mt. Holly passed away on June 17, 2016, what would have been hers and her late husbands 77 wedding anniversary.
Dorothy, the oldest of six children, was born August 9, 1921 to the late Gene and Leta Griffith. Back when her children were young, she worked as the supervisor at the Mt Holly school cafeteria. Spent almost 20 years as a beautician. She enjoyed working in her garden and her flowers. Greatest love she had was her children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her late husband of 46 years, Aubrey Lee Barksdale; two children, Linda Sue Bailey and Jimmy Lee Barksdale, as well as her four sisters, Mary Hannegan, Nina Thomas, Margarite Bailey, Jean Bourgeois and one brother, Claude Griffith.
Those left to cherish in her memory are one son, Billy D. Barksdale; nine grandchildren, twenty five grandchildren and twenty four great great grandchildren. Dorothy had two very special friends Vera Jones and Ann Hildebrand .
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday June 21, 2016 at Perry's Funeral Chapels.
Graveside services will be held at 10am at the Mt. Holly Cemetery in Mt. Holly, AR with Bro. Larry Goza officiating.
