El Dorado's beloved "Nannie Brown," age 99, left this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, grateful for her friends and family.
Born in Graysonia, Arkansas on July 5, 1924, to Joseph Hardy and Augusta Jennings Faulkner,
Eva and her husband Lester Lee Brown were married in Delight, Arkansas before he volunteered to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII. They lived in El Dorado, Camden and Chidester Arkansas where they had a business and after his death in 1983 she returned to El Dorado and worked at the First Baptist Church Child Learning Center for many years. She was an avid gardener and cook, appreciated for her optimistic outlook and Christian gratitude for her family, friends and good health.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, her husband Lester, daughter Linda Brown Derrick and granddaughter Augusta Grace Derrick, and survived by sister Frankie Faulkner Williams.
She is remembered and cherished by her daughters Nancy Brown Miller and son-in-law James Simpson Miller, Debbie Brown Sutherlin and son-in-law Richard Douglas Sutherlin III, her granddaughter Amanda Sutherlin Owens and husband Robert W. Owens, grandson Lester Neal Derrick, grandson Richard Douglas Sutherlin IV and wife Candice Gordon Sutherlin, four beautiful great-granddaughters, Reagan Derrick, Addison and Annabelle Sutherlin, and Jennings Owens, and her beloved niece Charlotte Faulkner Potter and husband Gary.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday September 14, 2023 at Chidester Cemetery.
