Everett Barrett Paxton Sr., 70 of El Dorado left this life on Thursday May 9, 2013 at Oakridge Nursing and Rehab. He was born December 23, 1942 in El Dorado to the late Everett M. Paxton and Ossie Paxton Vines. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was a cross country truck driver for Lees Trucking. He was a Christian and of the Methodist Faith.
Everett was a simple man who enjoyed the life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed the Boy Scouts and was a Scout Master for many years. He collected model trains and even briefly painted in his spare time. He loved his family who will dearly miss him, but most of all he loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Survivors include, his wife of 50 years, Nancy Paxton of El Dorado, a son, Everett "Ebby" Paxton Jr. (Donna) of Smackover, two daughters; Miki Steele (Clay) of Farmerville and Kristal Kolb (John) of Parkers Chapel, a brother William "Bill Vines Jr. (Relinda) of Parkers Chapel and his father: William "Bill" Vines Sr of El Dorado.Grandchildren; Ryan Williams, Clayton Steele, Hunter Steele, Keith Paxton, Molly Paxton,Chris Kolb, Norman Kolb, Sara Paxton, Kelsey Paxton and one great grandchild Lynnlee Steele.
Memorial services will be held at 10am Saturday May 11, 2013 at Perry's Funeral Chapels with Rev. Terry Burke officiating. A reception will be held following services at noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church fellowship Hall.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oakridge Nursing & Rehab for making Everett's last days as comfortable as possible.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to be made to Life Touch Hospice.
