Flora Ellen Foster McCall passed from this life August 7, 2023 at Oakridge Nursing Home in El Dorado, AR, at 80 years of age. She was born October 2, 1942 in El Dorado, AR to the late Mack and Floy Mae Foster.Flora was a 1960 graduate of Norphlet High School. She was a member of the El Dorado Community of Christ congregation, where she enjoyed going to church camps and spiritual women's retreats. She retired from The Medical Center of South Arkansas in 2016, where she was employed for over 20 year as a switchboard operator. Flora loved baking and cooking and even owned her own bakery in Norphlet for several years in the 1980's. Everyone around enjoyed her cakes, homemade pies, and all kinds of baked goodies. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing most all of her daughter's clothes, along with costumes for dance recitals and cheerleading uniform. Flora participated as a leader for her daughter's Girl Scout troop. She spent her leisure time fishing, and took every opportunity she could to travel and visit the western United States. Flora cherished her annual Christmas trip with her friend Diane to Branson, where they enjoyed everything Christmas, most of all The Passion Play. She had a passion for the Lord and staying connected with his word, which she passed on to her family and grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Gerald Lynn Foster; and William Richard her special friend.Those left to cherish her memory include: two daughters Brenda Elmore and her husband Ronnie of Norphlet, AR, and Debbie Burger of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren Kristin Burger of Fort Worth, TX, Jeremy Elmore and his wife Lindsey of Austin, TX, Derrikk Burger of Fort Worth, TX, Josh Elmore and his wife Jamie of Norphlet, AR, Rhett Burger and his wife Tori of Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM; eleven great-grandchildren Payton, Lily, Dekklan, Atalie, Kellan, Lynnleigh, Mack, Catherine, Micaella, and Knox; as well as a host of extended family and friends.Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, AR, interment following at Resthaven Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00pm until time of service Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the funeral home.
