Flossie Anna Williams Lewis, 95, of El Dorado entered into her final rest on Thursday February 10, 2011 at MCSA following a brief illness.
She was born November 12, 1915 in Union County to John Wilson and Anna Carrine Moore Williams. She was a life-long member of Mt. Union Baptist Church. "Ma" or "Ma Flossie," as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, spent most of her life taking care of others. She was a very independent and strong willed woman, as anyone who knew her would attest, but she was also deeply devoted to her family. For most of her adult life she had some member of her extended family living with her at one time or another. Her home was always available when there was a need; she had the gift of true hospitality. Her greatest joy was having her home filled with her children, grand children, great grand children and extended family. Ma's house was always the place where people came to feel they were a part of the family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Elvin Ray Lewis; a daughter, Emma Lou Lewis Trotter; three sisters, Lillian Williams, Catherine Smith and Ruth Hux; two brothers, Elliott Williams and J W Williams and a son-in-law Sonny Roshto.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Hill and her husband Thad of El Dorado; Faye Richmond and her husband James (Wishbone) also of El Dorado; one son-in-law, Richard Trotter and his wife Pat of Kilgore, Texas; seven grand children; ten step grand children; 8 great grand children and sixteen great, great grand children and two special sisters-in-law Viola Lewis, and Dessie Lee Williams.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Saturday, February 12 at Perry's Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 13 at Mt. Union Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Kerr officiating. Interment will be at Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
