Obituary

Floyd Gene Jerry, (Gene), of El Dorado, passed on to be with our Lord in Heaven, on Easter
Sunday, March the 23rd, at the Life Touch Hospice House in El Dorado. He was 68 years old, He
was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lawson. He was a member of the Christian
Motorcyclist Association, the National Rifle Association and the Teamsters Union.

Born January the 15th, l940 in the Lawson community, the 1st son of Leonard Ray and Burnette
Jerry.

After graduating Parkers Chapel High School in1958, he married Clydus Francis Rodgers, the
love of his life, on September 5th 1959. He worked as a route salesman for the 7-up Bottling Co.
and later for the RC bottling Co. He retired from Miller Transporters after 25 years , in 1994.

He was a devoted , fun-loving husband, a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
An avid deer hunter and motorcyclist, he loved the outdoors and spending time at the coffee shop
with his many friends.

His parents, Leonard Ray and Burnette Jerry, and his younger brother Roy Mason Jerry precede
Gene in death.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Clydus Francis Rodgers Jerry , 2 sons Dennis R. Jerry of
Lawson and Randal D. Garner, and his wife Amy of Smackover. 2 daughters, Kathy L. Simmons
and her husband Tom of Hendersonville, TN. And Kyra J. Smith and her husband Chris of El
Dorado. 11 Grandchildren, Heath Jerry, David and Stacy Slater , Kristopher & Kristi Simmons,
Blake Smith, Clint Smith, Sara Jerry and Lori Simmons, Jackson and Gavin Leach and 2 great-
granddaughters, Gabriella Slater and Delilah Slater. Two sisters Mary (Robert) Poole and
Charlott (Ace) Moreno.

Pallbearers will be nephews Josh Rodgers, Kenny Rodgers, Steven Jerry, Scott Jerry, Mark Jerry,
Teddy Rodgers.

Visitation will be Monday, March the 24th at Perry's Funeral Chapels, 4-8PM. Services will be
held at Liberty Baptist Church, Tuesday March 25th at 2PM, with Bro. Clay Hale and Bro.
Ronnie Robbins officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery under the directions of
Perry's.
