Obituary

Gladys Anita Williams Jobe gained her angel wings May 17, 2020.  She was born April 12, 1946, the daughter of Nettie Francis Elam Williams and Jim Austin Williams in El Dorado, AR.

She grew up riding horses, her favorite being King.  Her love for animals led to a wide range of pets over the years; including Scooter their raccoon and Baby, her most recent feline companion.  She loved people as much as she loved animals, and never met a stranger.  Anita enjoyed camping with family and friends.  Her and Bud even planned retirement living as traveling in their camper as fulltime RVers.  Every camping trip ended with new friends, and often discovering a new relative (we swore she was kin to almost everyone!) Her smile was contagious and her ability to uplift spirits never failed.

Anita met Bud (Frank D Jobe) in 1969 and later they were married. She became known as his bride, friend, mother of his children, and his wife.  She loved her family, friends and her Lord!  She always prayed for blessing and protection over her family; she always thanked the Good Lord for "you girls"; she never left a doubt as to her faith in Jesus Christ.  She was a member of First Assembly of God in El Dorado.

She worked in various occupations, from El Dorado Sewing to El Dorado School District Office, the Carpenter's Union and then settled in at J. Christy Construction. Anita retired and cared for Bud until he passed away in late 2009.  He was the sparkle in her eye and she longed to be with him again.  She'd tell of his late nights visits to comfort her, as she'd still hear his voice and long for his hug.

Anita was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers Jack and Jimmy Williams, her husband Bud, an infant son, and her beloved grandson Colten Cain.  Survivors include their daughters, Leah English of San Antonio, TX; Karla (Greg) Thurlkill of El Dorado; Kristin Jobe of Chesterfiled, VA; Karen (Brett) Engel of Sandpoint, ID; Michele (David) Mitchell of Mt Holly; Shonda (Nick) Pieroni of El Dorado; Amber (Michael) Patterson of El Dorado, and her sister-in-love Gayle Harris.  She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, church families, and a multitude of friends she'd made along the way.

Anita has chosen to be cremated. At her request, her hour-glass shaped urn will allow her to once again have her hour-glass figure. Due to the pandemic restrictions, a memorial service will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road in El Dorado.
