Harry Bryant "Buck" Rowland, 91, of El Dorado, departed this life on September 25, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

He was born April 29, 1927, to Dursey Mae Taylor and James Mavis Rowland in Huttig, AR. He attended Junction City Schools and joined the US Navy during World War II where he was assigned to the USS Whetstone LSD-27 in the Pacific Theater. His Operations during his time of service on the USS Whetstone LSD-27 included deckhand, gunman, steering the ship and driving the shuttle boats. He retired from Columbia Chemical and was an avid gardener and hunter.

He preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian Blackman Rowland; sister, Mary Frances Jones; two brothers, James and Max Rowland; and great grandson Alex Bougher.

Those left to cherish his memory are sons, James Rowland of Huttig, Thomas Rowland (Mary) of El Dorado; daughter, Angie Bougher of El Dorado; brother, Paul Rowland (Linda) of Junction City; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Perry's Funeral Chapels. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Perry's Funeral Chapels. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbears are Davy Allen, Kyle Holmes, Chris Harrison, George Crew, Kent Holmes, and Richard Smart.
