Hazel Allene Jackson 88 of Smackover left this life on Friday November 1, 2013 at her home. She was born October 22, 1925 in McKamie, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Walter Lee Dixon and Carrie Riddlin Dixon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister; Lucille Hudgins, brothers; Jimmie Dixon and Daryel Dixon who was POW/MIA from the Korean Conflict and most recently her husband; Raymond W. Jackson, who passed away in June of this year.
Hazel worked her whole life in the home taking care of her family. She would take care of anyone who was in need. She was a wonderful cook who made the best homemade biscuits anyone could imagine. She fed many preachers with her famous biscuits. At times thats all they had , along with potatoes and gravy, but none of them ever complained.
Hazel is survived by her daughter; Shirley ( the late" Cal") Tinsley of Smackover, sons; Phillip Jackson (Marlene) of Iowa falls, Iowa and Larry Tom Jackson (Carla) of Dardanelle, Arkansas, her sisters; Annie Sparks of Dayton, Texas, Sue Raber (Dennis) of Stamps, Arkansas and Betty Hood (Ron) of Russelville, Arkansas,grandchildren; Jeff and Dean Tinsley, Mitchell, Matthew and Tina Jackson, and Shirley Thessing, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Sunday November 3, 2013 at Perry's Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be 2pm Monday November 4, 2013 at Perry's Funeral Chapels with Rev. Bob Inman officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be , Bill Jackson, Matt Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Rickie Sparks, Dean Tinsley and Charlie Taylor. Burial will be at Silver Hill Cemetery.
