Herbert Eugene "Gene" Haney, 53, left this life on Friday September 11, 2009 at his residence in
Norphlet. He was born in Franklin, Georgia on September 29, 1955 . He graduated from
Bowden High School 1973. He was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church in El Dorado. He
was a "rodbuster" working in contruction for over 30 years. He also did yardwork and owned an
operated Complete Lawncare Service.

Gene was a hard worker. If he didn't have work he would find work. He liked to be busy. If he
wasn't tieing rebar or mowing lawns, he was watching Atlanta Braves baseball. He loved his
family and his family loved him and will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father Herbert Hoover Haney.

Survivors include his wife; Dorothy Haney of Norphlet, his mothe; Dorothy Inell Haney of
Bowden , Georgia, two sons; Wayne Goode (Sophia) of Dearborne, Michigan, and Ricky Goode
(Kathy) of El Dorado, a daughter; JoAnn Nipper (Stan) of El Dorado, two brothers; Larry Haney
(Mellissa), Paul Haney (Rosie), of Bowden, Georgia and a sister; Sharon Knowles (Tracy) of
Bowden, Georgia, grandchildren; Dustin Goode, Corey Goode, Mickey Goode, Drew Tomlinson,
and Olivia Goode, several nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Monday September 14, 2009 at 2PM at Perry's Funeral Chapels with
Revs. Merle York and Byron White officiating. Burial will be in Jolley Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 5:00pm til 7:00pm on Sunday September 13, 2009 at the funeral home.
