Herbert G. Priddy Sr. 85, of Norphlet died Wednesday March 12, 2014 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born at Rosemond Hospital in El Dorado on November 7, 1928. He was the son of James Burl Priddy and Zelma Alburta Priddy.

Herbert graduated from Norphlet High School in the year 1946. He participated in all sports at Norphlet. He joined the Marine Corp serving in 1946 & 1947 , was recalled in 1950 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1953. In his earlier years he worked for Continental Trailways, Lion Oil, Independent Linen. He retired from Columbia Chemical as the office manager in February l987. Herbert was a member of Hillsboro Street Church of Christ and throughly enjoyed his retirement.

He married Joy Ann Cheatham in July 1950. They were married until her death December 24, 2000. He then married Dora Helen Gorman Nordmeyer February 2002.

Also preceding him was his parents, and 2 brothers; Doyle Priddy and James Priddy.

Survivors include his wife; Dora Helen Priddy, his children; Brenda Priddy Allen, Gene Priddy (Margie Kay), Jimmy Nordmeyer and Tammy Priest (Jeff), grandchildren; Alicia Anderson (Darrin), Candice Nutt (Bobby), Matt Priddy (Melanie), Kenny Lewis and John Lewis, 7 great grandchildren; Matthew Nutt, Austin Nutt, Kaley Meeks, Jarrod Anderson, Tyler Priddy, Olivia Priddy and Bradley Broach.

Visitation will be held 5-7pm Thursday March 13, 2014 at Perry's Funeral Chapels. Services will be 2pm Friday March 14, 2014 at Perry's with John Fields officiating. Burial will be at Smackover Cemetery.
