Obituary

Huey L. Poole 78, of Strong died Tuesday October 9, 2012 at Life Care Hospital in Farmerville. He was born February 24, 1934 in Strong. He is the son of the late Johnny Raymond Poole and Josie Lucille Hogue. He was a truck driver by trade working mostly in the oilfield. He was a proud veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion Post #10. He loved horses and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He chartered the "Poole Hunting Club" and was a member of New London Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carlton Poole and Lawrence Poole.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Joette B. Poole, daughter, Kathy Welch (Steve), son, James Poole(Cammie), step-daughter, Debbie Martin (Ronnie), grandchildren, Bill Welch(Shana), Alex Welch, and Sidney Poole, step-grandchildren, Shawn Martin(Shelene), Krystal Martin(Kazz) and five great grandchildren, brothers, Charles Poole(Lanora), Junior Poole(Linda), a sister Nadine Crisp(Charles), numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday October 11, 2012 at the funeral home in Strong with Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will be in Poole Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
