Iris Owana Taunton Smith, 94, of Strong, died Thursday June 10, 2010 at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.
She was born May 3, 1916 in Lapile, Arkansas to the late James Henry "Jim" Taunton and Nancy Ophelia Slater Taunton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; John Charley Smith; brothers, G. P., J. B.(Petey), Q.J. (Skinny), and most recently Sam Taunton.
Survivors are one nephew; Que Taunton, and nieces Peggy Farris, Nancy Taunton, Beth Munford, Wanda Norsworthy, Marrianne Ward, Janis Peterson, and Libby Kokinos, also eighteen great, thirty two great great, and seven great great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 10:00AM Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Strong Cemetery with Bros. Tommy Robertson and Bob Inman Officiating.Service are under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels of Strong.
Memorials may be made to John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado , AR 71730 and Old Lapile Cemetery 712 Bolding Road, Huttig, AR 71747 and Strong Cemetery 941 Huttig Hwy, Strong, AR 71765.
The family will be at her residence 231 Elm Street.
