Obituary
James Henry Fairris, 80, of Strong, AR passed from this life to his Heavenly home on March 10, 2016.
He was born April 7, 1935 in Strong, AR to John Henry and Addie Laura Fairris. James graduated form Strong High School. He served in the U.S. Army, where he worked as a helicopter mechanic. Later on, he worked on the pipeline and as a carpenter. He married Diane Massey on May 14, 1970 and had four children together. James loved his family ad enjoyed spending time with them. He also loved to hog hunt and sit out on the porch and watch the world go by. One of the highlights of this past year was the family reunion his son, Jamie, got together for his 80th birthday. He enjoyed visiting with family, friends and eating. The softball game on "Fairris Field", better known as the cow pasture, was his favorite part of the day as he loved watching his grandchildren play ball.
James was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lovie Sue Robertson and a precious great granddaughter, Rosalyn Kate Agerton.
He is survived by his wife Diane; his children, Judy Fairris Agerton (Heath), Jamie Fairris (Stacey), Liz Fairris Shirey (Jason), and Curt Fairris. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Colby Agerton (Libby), Kyle Agerton (Katie), Drew Fairris, GageFairris, Lexi Fairris, Jase Shirey, Madison Ballard, Kaylyn Fairris and Paydon Fairris. One great grandson, Caleb Agerton. James would have welcomed three more great grandchildren by the end of the year. Also leaving behind four brothers and two sisters, Sam Fairris (Peggy), Dan Fairris, Jerry Fairris (Jeanette), Morgan Fairris, Melba Fairris Stewart and Linda Fairris King (Donnie), as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends
Funeral services will be held today at 2pm Friday March 11 at Green Grove Chapel Church with Bro. Gerald Hicks and Bro. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow at New London Cemetery under direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
Serving as pall bearers will be Kyle Agerton, Drew Fairris, Gage Fairris, Jase Shirey, Joel King, Nick King, Johnny Fairris, Randy Fairris. Honorary pall bearers are Paydon Fairris and Colby Agerton.
