James Eugene "Gene" McGee, 82, of Norphlet, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at home. He was born February 27, 1937, to the late James Vernie McGee and Neva Masters McGee of Norphlet. Gene was a member of the Norphlet United Pentecostal Church. He was retired from Cross Refinery. He was Marine veteran. He enjoyed playing the guitar and going fishing.

Survivors included his wife, Johnnie Short McGee of Norphlet; daughters, Cynthia Scott (Jason) of Garland, Texas; Kristina Brazeal (Justin) of Conway, Arkansas; Casey Jo Primm of Norphlet; Marie Weaver Robertson (Roger) of Grafton, Ohio; Nancy Crews of Smackover; son, Sammy Crews (Julia) of West Virginia; brother, Charles McGee (Betty) of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren; nine great children and many nieces, nephews and family members.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Norphlet United Pentecostal Church. Family and friends are invited to stay and visit with the family after the service. The burial was entrusted to Perry's Funeral Chapel of El Dorado.
