James "Jim" Parker, 84, of Murfreesboro and formerly of El Dorado left this life on Friday January 13, 2017 at his home on Lake Greeson.
He was born in Messer, Oklahoma on August 13, 1932 and is the son of the late Jim Parker and Nora Johnson Parker. He retired from the Army and worked for Rock Island Railroad for many years before retiring to Lake Greeson
Jim never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He loved his country and served in with honor in both the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam but most of all he loved his family.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 64 years, Phyliss Mae Morris; daughter, JoAnn Chapell, brother, D.L. Parker and two sisters, Hazel Lairamore and Jenny Martin.
He is survived by three sons, Jim Parker (Shirley) of Murfreesboro, Shorty Parker (Angie) of Broken Bow, OK, Larry Parker of Hugo, OK and a daughter, Billie Mae Priddy (James) of Fort Towson, OK, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-8pm on Monday 1-16-2017 at Perry's Funeral Chapels
Graveside services will be at 2pm on Tuesday 1-17-2017 at Spencerville Cemetery in Spencerville, OK.
