James C. Stephens 73 of El Dorado died Thursday January 16, 2014 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born June 7, 1940 in El Dorado. He is the son of James Asbury Stephens and Frances Ella Bowen Stephens who preceded him in death.
James was a simple man. He loved the Lord, his family and his animals. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was a welder by trade working for various oil companies and later operated his own welding company. He loved being outdoors and working with wood on his sawmill.
He is survived by two sisters; Addie Jane Martin of Panama City Florida and Helen Ruth Amason (Maurice) of Fayetteville,Arkansas several nieces and nephews and his former wife and best friend, Nancy Hash.
Visitation will be held from 2-3pm at Union Baptist Church on Sunday January 19, 2014 with services starting immediately at 3pm with Revs. Brian Williams and Ronnie Robins officiating. Burial will be in Union Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Union Baptist Church or cemetery fund.
