James H. Wade (Jim), 76, of El Dorado Arkansas, passed away at his home on March 22, 2025. Jim
was born September 29, 1948 in Clarksville Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents
James H. Wade Sr. and Patsi Groskopf.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jo Etta Wade; two sons Brian (Hallie) Ramos and Jimmy (Heather)
Wade; grandchildren Parker Ramos, Greenlee Wade, Caroline Raney, Gauge Wade, Harper Raney
and Madison Wade; honorary grandchild Lauren Pedigo (#7); and his brothers Bentley (Bo) Wade
(Lisa), Charles (Cole) Wade; and sisters Gigi Shelton and Lori Bowen Beck (Jason).
Jim married Jo Etta on August 14, 1993. Together they enjoyed 31 years of marriage and memories.
Jim worked at Lowe's in El Dorado for 11 years until leaving to train at the Arkansas Law
Enforcement Training Academy. He served as an El Dorado Police Officer for 22 years until he
retired as Lt. Jim Wade affectionately known as "Uncle Jim". His love for the job led him to then
serve as a Union County Sheriff's Deputy for 6 more years overseeing security at the Union County
Courthouse. During his tenure as an officer and deputy, Jim made many lifelong connections that he
maintained throughout the years. After his second retirement from law enforcement, he began his
lifelong dream of having a wood working business – Wade Woodcrafters.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. If you
knew Jim, you know he loved to talk. He would sit for hours reminiscing with his friends and family.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, any memorials can be sent to UCAPS or the Fraternal Order of Police – El Dorado.
