Janice Fournier, age 76, of El Dorado, AR passed from this life Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home surrounded by family.  She was born October 2, 1947 in El Dorado, AR to the late Jim and Faye Ellen.

Janice was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Dorado, AR.  She loved animals, especially her cat Franklin. Even in her final days, she was worried about who would take care of Franklin.  She adored Richard, her husband, best friend, and soul mate.  She volunteered every year with the Red Cross. Janice had a passion for archeology, she even went digging for arrowheads and artifacts out in Arizona.  Another hobby of hers was genealogy.  People would come to her and she would search libraries and archives to trace their family heritage.  She had a stubborn streak, but had a really big heart.  Her daughter Jeffrie recalled her visits every year around Thanksgiving "It was something me and my daughters would always look forward to, and of course she'd always bring her cat".  Janice was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of twenty-five years Richard Donald Fournier, and her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory include: one daughter Jeffrie Wetherhold and her husband Dr. Joseph Wetherhold of Freeport, ME; two grandchildren Olivia Wetherhold and Zoe Wetherhold; one brother Malcolm Lee Ellen and his wife Jeannie Ellen of Rosebud, AR; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00pm Friday, December 15, 2023, at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, AR, Pastor Brian Trostle officiating, followed by a private family internment.  A time of visitation will be held from 5:00pm until time of service at the funeral home.
