Jed Davis, age 80, of Bonham, TX found his wings on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.  Jed was born December 22, 1943 in Ft. Worth, TX to the late J.O. and Carmen Otis Davis.

Jed was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, but to his grandson, he was also a hero. Jed was fiercely independent, opinionated, purposeful, and planned.  He loved to laugh, whistle little tunes, and sing in the car to old country music with the windows down and the sun on his face.  He had an easy smile, and his quick humor was warmly sarcastic, slightly mischievous, and always, always funny.  He could fix almost anything and enjoyed working in his shop to rig solutions for whatever problem presented itself.  He loved to fish, and he was happiest tossing a line into the water at sunset from the cedar benches on the dock he built himself; the only thing better was company to enjoy it with. He made friends easily and believed that blessings granted were blessings to be shared. He treasured his late wife Linda, and he wanted nothing more than to see those he loved safe, healthy, and happy.  If he loved you, you felt it without any doubt.

Those left to cherish Jed's memory include: one daughter, Jamie Henning; two grandchildren Gage Henning and Kaja Henning; one sister Virginia Allen of Brownwood, TX; his cousins Meg Johnston of Largo, FL and Jess Larson of Grand Rapids, MI; his caretaker and friend Lisa Kelly of Bonham, TX; and many others touched by his kindness and friendship through the years.

"Time marches on," he would often say.  "Everything will be okay."

Graveside services and interment of ashes will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Cane Creek Cemetery in Strong, AR.
