Obituary
Jewel E. Darden 76, of El Dorado died Wednesday April 15, 2015 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born on August 8, 1938 here in Union County. He is the son of the late William Turner Darden and Lucy Nancy Coke Darden Scroggins.
Jewel was a lifelong resident of Union County He drove a truck by trade, driving for Economy Oil for over 20 years. When his health would permit it, he enjoyed doing carpentry work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jewel Edward "Buddy" Darden Jr., brothers; Lennie Francis Darden, and William "Bill" Darden, sisters; Betty Jean Darden Eshelman, Mary Jane Darden Chipman Wright, and Annie Mae Darden Martin and half brother; Marvin Fernell Darden and Half sister; Morene Darden Dolley.
Survivors include Mary Darden, a son; Marty Darden, daughter; Teressa Cox, sisters; Edna Buckwalter and Pat Parks and a host of extended family.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm Sunday April 19, 2015 at Salem Cemetery with Rev. Heather Clawitter officiating. Visitation will start at 1:30pm at the cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels .
