Jo Ella Meshell, age 92, of Strong, AR passed from this life Friday, February 2, 2024, at Courtyard Rehabilitation and Health Center surrounded by family.

Jo Ella was born August 24, 1931 in Patmus, AR to the late Frank and Elsie Ward.

Jo Ella worked for Williams Drug Store and later for Strong City Hall as City Clerk and retired from there at the age of 83. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her granddaughter Alycia recalled her love for playing with her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of sixty-five years Chester Meshell; son Harold Meshell; three brothers and seven sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include: one daughter Gina Massey and her husband PeeWee of Strong, AR; eight grand children Harlan Meshell of Strong, AR; Chris Meshell and his wife Tracie of Strong, AR; Alison Dugal and her husband Shay of El Dorado, AR; Kerrie Dopson and her husband Joe of El Dorado, AR; Courtney Res and her husband Trevor of Homer, LA; Kourtney Messer and her husband Blake of El Dorado, AR; Alycia Reynolds and her husband Matthew of El Dorado, AR; Raylynn Massey of Strong, AR; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service in her honor will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 5, 2024, at Strong Cemetery, Pastor Rickey Smith officiating. The family invites you to come early and share your stories and special memories. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of nurses and doctors at Courtyard for their excellent care of Jo Ella.
