Joann Smith, 77, of El Dorado, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, November 9, 2019.  Born April 6, 1942, she was the daughter of Johnny and Georgia Green Thurmon. Mrs. Smith was a Godly woman who was a prayer warrior and served faithfully as a pastor's wife for over 60 years.  She was an accomplished pianist and blessed people with her talents all her life.  She also recorded several church hymnal accompaniment projects for churches to use during their services.  She was a longtime member of Murmill Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were two brothers, J.D. Thurmon and James Thurmon; and a great-grandson Toby Smith.  Survivors include her husband, Pastor Billy Smith; three sons, Billy Joe (Venita), Jim (Angela), and Terry (Pam), all of South Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren, Ben, Jared, Micah, Dalton, Sarah, Emily, Seth (Morgan), Kendall (Jenna), Valerie Nation (Matt), Taylor Lisemby (DJ), all of South Arkansas; Jon of Forrest City, Kalan (Danielle) of Minden, Ashley (Ben) of Louisville, Kentucky, Zach (Shelby) of Spearsville, Charity Dennison (Nick) of Little Rock, and Carissa Paschal (America) of Shreveport; six great-grandchildren, Haylee, Adalynn, Samantha, Tristan, Ashton, and Olivia.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Murmill Heights Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Murmill Heights Baptist Church followed by Interment at Beech Grove Cemetery in Spearsville, LA.
