IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joe
Giles
July 7, 1954 – May 22, 2025
With profound sadness and love, we announce the passing of Joe Michael Giles, age 70, of El dorado, AR a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a man of unwavering strength and courage. He left this world peacefully on May 22, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most. Joe was born July 7, 1954 in Texarkana, AR to the late Mifflin "Skipper" and Gladys Giles.
Joe Giles, a man whose unwavering spirit and quiet strength touched all who knew him, has passed on. Known for his resilience, determination, and deep love for his family, Joe faced life's challenges with grace and inspired others to do the same.
For over thirty years, he proudly owned and operated Giles' Catfish Corner, serving up more than just food—he created a gathering place filled with warmth, laughter, and community.
He was the devoted husband of Sue, his lifelong partner and love. His greatest joys were found in the laughter of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews—each a treasured light in his life.
Joe found peace in the simple pleasures: casting a line by the water, cooking a family meal, tending his garden, hunting, and cheering on his beloved Razorbacks. Whether alone or surrounded by loved ones, nature was where his soul felt most at home.
Rest easy, Joe. May your lines always be tight, and the waters forever calm.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; one brother Mitch Giles; and son-in-law Jason Shipman.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his loving wife of fifty years Deborah Sue Sallee Giles; two daughters Misty Goodman and Brandy Shipman; five grandchildren Stormy Bates and her husband Jonathan, Dalton Gosvenor, T.J. Hudson, Jonathan Goodman, Cody Nicole Tumey and her husband Chris; three great-grandchildren Ryder, Remi, Banks; sister Carolyn Pearson, one brother Travis Giles and his wife Delores; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
