L.A. (Pee Wee) Thompson went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday February 28, 2008. He was born February 8, 1926 to Louis Thompson and Cora Wade Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeanie Grafton. He is survived by his wife Bobbie Baker Thompson, five sons Clyde Thompson, David Thompson, Richard Thompson, Steven Thompson and Art Baker; one daughter, Raenette Gonzalez; one sister Pat Easley; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
L.A. was a veteran of WWII-serving in the Navy. He started working at Monsanto in the late l940's. He retired from El Dorado Chemical in the late l990's. L.A. was a recovering alcoholic with forty years sobriety. He continued spornsoring recovering alcoholics until shortly before his death. He was a member of Murmill Baptist Church for twenty-four years and was a faithful prayer warrior. L.A. will be greatly missed by his family and his very many friends.
There will be a visitation from 7:00pm to 9:00pm Sunday March 2nd at Perry's Funeral Chapels, 312 West Oak, El Dorado, Arkansas. The funeral services will be 10:00am Monday March 3rd at Murmill Baptist Church, 203 Beaon Drive, El Dorado, Arkansas, with Pastor Billy Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be his five sons and a grandson, Darrin Thompson. Burial will be at the Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery on Parkers Chapel Road immediately following the services.
