Lisa
Owens
Lisa Lee Owens went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 10, 2026, surrounded by her husband and daughter. Born on November 4, 1963 to Jimmy and Patsy Lee, Lisa lived a life marked by strength, faith, and deep love for her family.
She married the love of her life, Toby Owens, on December 26, 1980, and together they raised their daughter, Brandy, who became the center of Lisa’s world until her grandsons arrived — the role of “MeMe” quickly became her greatest joy.
Lisa and Toby owned Tank Trailer of Arkansas for over 25 years, and she proudly supported her family’s businesses at Lee’s Trucking and PJ’s Tank Wash. In 2011, she joined Brandy at Sassy’s Boutique, where her bold, spirited personality shined. She was also a devoted member of Bible Baptist Church for more than 25 years.
In January 2016, Lisa began her battle with stage 4 small cell lung cancer. Given six months to live, she fought fiercely for ten years, astonishing doctors and inspiring everyone around her. She battled beside her mother and husband, defying the odds again and again. Dr. Middleton described her journey as nothing less than a miracle.
Lisa loved watching her daughter and grandsons rodeo and dirt track race. Known as MeMe 44 or Sassy, she became recognized as one of the few women racers — spirited, bold, and unforgettable.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Patsy Lee; grandparents Guy and Cynthia Lee, Axion H. and Nola Mae Lee; her brother Guy Dale Lee; brother-in-law Richie Chadwick; and nephew Wesley Owens.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Toby Owens; daughter Brandy (Gary) Gaffney; grandsons Brennan (Savannah) Gaffney and Landen Gaffney; great granddaughter Dally Lee (due 2027); and sister Tonya Chadwick. Many nieces and nephews she took part in helping raise.
