October 7, 1934 – August 21, 2020
Lois Ann Green age 85 of Junction City, left her worldly home to be received into her heavenly home on August 21, 2020 at her residence. Lois was born on October 7, 1934 in Hermitage, AR to the late Susie Brooks Hooks and Melvin O. Hooks.
She worked for Cooper Tire and later for Country Pride (later known as Conagra) from where she retired. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and sister. She was a caregiver to all and told everone she met to call her "Nanny". She was a wonderful cook and always had enough to eat for anyone who "dropped" in. She didn't know how to say "no" to anyone, especially her family.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Lee E. Green; one son, Kevin Green; one daughter, Darla Halsey; great grandson, Patrick Pepper, Jr., three brothers, Jack Brooks, Louis Hooks, and Russell Hooks; two sisters, Patsy Loomis, and Marilyn Pitts.
Those left to cherish her memory include: five daughters, Marilyn Pepper (Bob) of Junction City, Sharon Williams (Steve) of Junction City, Twyla Davis (George) of Minden, LA, Debbie Green of Junction City, and Susan Henry of Junction City; one son, Bruce Green (Amanda) of Junction City; son in law, Gary Halsey Sr. of Hector, AR; three sisters, Morris Jefferies (Bill) of Banks, AR, Peggy Morgan (Benny) of Camden, and Merline Knight of Fordyce; five brothers, Merle Dean Hooks (Betty) of Crossett, Joe Frank Hooks of Smackover, Cecil Hooks of Chidester, Marion Hooks (Connie) of Camden, and Bill Edward Hooks of Fordyce; 19 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends (She was blessed).
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, August 24, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Junction City. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Olive Branch Cemetery, with Bro. Buddy Boatwright officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
