Melvin Clarence "Buddy" Barnes passed from this life Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his home in Strong, AR.  Buddy was born January 10, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX to the late Mervin Barnes and Doris Yost.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Frank Branes and Monty Barnes; two sisters Debbie Dimler and Patty Tillman; and one daughter Tarrah Barnes.

Those left to cherish his memory include: his loving wife of 52 years Billie Joyce Russell Barnes; one son Kevin Barnes; one daughter Sierra Jinks; three grandchildren Kyle Barnes, Tabitha Dollar, Ashton Scharbor; two great-grandchildren Yvanna Barnes, Damian Jinks; two sisters Gloria Chadwick and her husband Wayne, and Tammy Smith; one brother Tony Barnes and his wife Stacy; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Cemetery in Strong, AR.  A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm Friday, October 6, 2023 at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, AR.
