Noweeta Waldon Joyner, 89, of El Dorado, passed peacefully from this world on September 10, 2021. She was born on September 12, 1931 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to the late Loyce Otto Waldon and Maudie Lee Bradley.
Noweeta was known and loved by the children and parents of Union County as a fifth-grade teacher at Northwest Elementary for 28 years and a Master Piano Instructor for decades. Her students called her the "best and favorite" teacher they ever had.
She was born into a Pastor's home and began in ministry at an early age, playing the piano in services as early as three years old. She loved to sing and sang harmony for many years with her siblings.
Noweeta faithfully served her Lord and Savior at El Dorado First Assembly for 70 years by volunteering as a Sunday School teacher, singing in over 100 cantatas, playing piano for weddings, funerals and worship services, as well as many other forms of ministry. Noweeta never said "no" when there was a need.
Noweeta is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry David Joyner; her son, David Joyner; her parents; and siblings, Jory Waldon, Danita Chambers, and Launelda Scott.
She is survived by her sons, Jonathan (Kristen) of Gaffney, SC and Robert (Karen) of El Dorado; daughter-in-law, Debbie Joyner of Springdale, AR; the proud Nana to eight grandchildren, Jessica Joyner Fine, Carly Joyner Black, Jerry Joyner, Jennifer Joyner, Samuel Joyner, Emily Joyner Hansen, Leta Joyner, Logan Joyner and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at El Dorado First Assembly.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at El Dorado First Assembly officiated by Bro. Greg Tucker and Bro. Chris Cleveland followed by Interment at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
Serving as Pallbearers are Michael Black, Daniel Fine, Jerry Joyner, Sam Joyner, Logan Joyner, and Kevin Hansen.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Robert Holland Scholarship fund, for students to attend college, through El Dorado First Assembly, 2225 West Hillsboro El Dorado, AR 71730.
