Patricia J. "Pat" Miller, age 98, of El Dorado, passed away from this life to heaven on Thursday, January 02, 2020, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado.

She was born in Quay, Oklahoma, on March 9, 1921 the eldest of three children born to William P. Johnston, Sr., and Neta Sivadon Johnston. After living in various towns near Tulsa, she moved to El Dorado as a child, and later graduated from El Dorado High School in 1939 and Miss McKay's Secretarial School.

During World War II she was a civilian employee with the U.S. Navy, serving in Washington, D.C., where she met, quickly fell in love with, and married Woodrow Miller in 1942 who was serving in the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C.

After the war Pat and Woody briefly lived in Branson, Missouri, before moving back to El Dorado. She worked for her father's oil company a while as a bookkeeper, was a homemaker for a few years while raising her children, and then worked for Monsanto, her church as a secretary, and finally a bookkeeper for El Dorado Golf and Country Club. She led a happy life, loved her family, animals, and loved the Lord and her church friends at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Her hobbies included working crossword puzzles, cryptoquotes, and jigsaw puzzles, together with reading and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her brother, W.P. "Bill" Johnston, Jr., of El Dorado; her sister, Betty Burns of Norman, Oklahoma; and her husband, Woodrow F. Miller, to who she was married 66 years.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Miller (Phyllis) of El Dorado, Sharon Johnson (Charlie) of El Dorado, and Roger Miller (Audree) of Little Rock, Arkansas: grandchildren, Phillip Miller of Port O'Connor, Texas, Donna Miller Farish of El Dorado, and Michael Johnson of Vance , Alabama; four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Perry's Funeral Chapels. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.

Serving as Pallbearers are Michael Johnson, Otis McCroskey, Joe Willett, Bob Willett, Gary Hill, and Daniel Johnston.
