Rebecca Ellis Antoon, known to all as Beckie Antoon, passed from this world at the age of 82, peacefully in her home on January 9, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband James J. Antoon, Jr, (her beloved Jimmy), and by her parents Ada and Clarence Ellis.

Beckie is survived by her two sisters, Glynda Ellis Gibson, and Jerry Ellis Fletcher, both of Little Rock, Arkansas. Beckie leaves her daughter, Melinda Antoon Cormier and husband Adley Cormier of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her son James J. Antoon III, (Joey) and wife Marsha Pickett Antoon; and her son Jon Marcus Antoon and wife Catherine Pickett Antoon, of El Dorado. She leaves three grandchildren, James J. Antoon IV (Jeremy) and wife Shelley Antoon of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Elizabeth Clair Antoon and Foster Reed Antoon of El Dorado, Arkansas. She leaves four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, two nieces and a nephew.

Beckie loved her family and family gatherings, particularly those she hosted at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed gardening and nature, bird watching, cooking, theater, and in her younger days, community service and being a Jayceette. Her career was as an officer, secretary, and treasurer of her longtime family business, Antoon's Jewelers in El Dorado, Arkansas which she helped operate until her passing.

Those of you who knew her are invited to join the family in a celebration of her life on Sunday, January 15th at the South Arkansas Arts Center 110 East 5th, El Dorado, Arkansas from 2 pm to 5 pm.
