IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reece Howard
Young
July 8, 1958 – February 2, 2021
Reece Howard Young of Norphlet, Arkansas, originally from Thornton AR, was born on July 8 th , 1958 and passed away on February 2 nd , 2021 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas at the age of 62.
Reece was the youngest child born to Jack Louis Young and Helen Doherty Young, who both preceded him in death. Reece is survived by his wife Wanda of almost 40 years, by his former wife Joann Earnest and by his children Michoal (Jessica) Young of Fordyce, Dan (Stephanie) Nash of Ohio, Sabrina (Scotty) Warner of Fordyce and Jason (Taylor) Young of Junction City. Reece was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren Callie, Christian, Noah, Marc, Scott and Sidney and two more very special grandchildren. Of all the things he loved in life, he loved his family the most. He was so very proud of his children and often told his wife, "we must have done something right to end up with such good kids". His grandchildren loved him dearly and he loved them back. He was always ready to see them and he encouraged them to each follow their dreams and be happy in life.
He is survived by a sister, Carolyn Crews of Bearden, and brothers William (Donna) Young of Fordyce and Dan (Judy) Young of Thornton. Reece loved his siblings and they were a very close nit group. Reece was uncle to Nathan, Rachel, Michael, Jack, Robin, Robbie, Tena, Lisa, Will, Stephen and Brian and had a special relationship with each one of them. He had numerous great nieces and nephews that all had a special place in his heart. Reece also had a very special relationship with his mother-in-law Mae Smith and sister-in-law Darlean Hutchison.
Reece worked at Prescolite Lighting for 30 years and he was friends with all his work mates. He was especially close to Gary, Brad, LC, Will and Big Fred.
Reece loved the New York Yankees and Razorback anything. He enjoyed a good game of golf but his favorite thing to do was play music. He was a lifelong musician and played in The White Mustang Band with bandmates William Young, John Cary, Kenny Nash, Jeff Martin and his wife Wanda. The band has been playing for almost 30 years and met and made so many friends that has endured a lifetime. Reece was known for his talent at singing, drumming and most of all entertaining. He was the glue that held the group together and he always had time for his bandmates and for his fans. He touched many lives through music. He was the life of the party when the group played for the Hudson Nursing Home and the residents there loved him. He loved his music and the influence of that love can be seen in his sons Michoal and Dan, his grandsons Noah, Christian and Marc, and nephews Reagan and Preston and so many others that he encouraged to play.
Reece was well known in many circles. His ripple in the pond of life went all the way to the water's edge and all that knew him, loved him. He was a kind and generous man and he was always willing to help someone in need.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Moss Hill Cemetery in Bearden, Arkansas under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
