Rhonda Kay
Bagwell
March 24, 1947 – January 8, 2026
Rhonda Kay Bagwell, age 78, passed from this earth into the arms of her Heavenly Father on January 8, 2026. Rhonda was a beloved member of the community of Strong, Arkansas for her entire life. Rhonda met and married the love of her life, her husband Mervin while working at Remington Band in Shreveport. They were later married on May 19,1967 and were married for almost 59 years. They were later blessed with three daughters.
Rhonda was very social, enjoying many years as Song Director at Lapile Baptist Church for several decades, served as the Librarian in Strong for over two decades; and was later very involved in Order of the Eastern Star #280. Rhonda also enjoyed spending time with her family at every opportunity, was an excellent cook, cooking for everyone she knew. Everyone always looked forward to her meals. Rhonda also loved to travel, fish, paint, and crochet until she was no longer able to.
Rhonda was born to Wilma Gandy Stinson and Grady Stinson on March 24,1947. She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Cody Britt, a granddaughter Alyse Britt, beloved Brother-in-law Grady Bagwell, Mother and Father-in-law; Violee and Curtis Bagwell.
Rhonda is survived by her loving husband of almost 59 years, Mervin Bagwell; daughters; Melanie Britt (Ronnie) of Gassville, Arkansas. Tonya Bagwell (Jim) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Alison Bagwell of Strong, Arkansas, two sisters; Linda Little (Harvey) of Strong, Arkansas, Janis Ball of Strong, Arkansas as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Rhonda's life will take place on Sunday January 11, 2026 at 2:00pm officiated by Rev. Ricky Donahue. Visitation starting at 1:00pm at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado. Graveside service will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Strong under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapel.
